All app data is saved in your device's local storage and never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it. This includes:
None of this information is transmitted to us or any third party. It exists only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Midstance requests camera permission solely to let you scan food barcodes. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device. No images or video are stored or transmitted anywhere.
When you scan a barcode, the app sends the barcode number to the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve nutritional information. This is the only network request Midstance makes.
The request contains only the barcode number — no name, location, account, or device identifier. Open Food Facts is an open, non-profit food database. You can review their privacy policy at world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy.
Midstance contains no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising networks, or any other third-party code that phones home. We have no way to see how you use the app.
Midstance does not require you to create an account or provide an email address. There is no sign-in and no profile synced to a server.
Midstance is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because all data stays on-device and no personal information is transmitted to us, this app does not collect data from anyone, regardless of age.
Because your data never leaves your device, you are always in full control. To delete all data stored by Midstance, simply uninstall the app. You can also clear individual diary entries or run history from within the app.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
